In the Global Fraud Loss Survey, the Communications Fraud Control Association (CFCA) estimated losses from telecom fraud totaled US$38.1 billion in 2015. This is representative of 2 – 5% of total global telecom revenue! While retail service providers and end consumers are hardest hit by this fraud, wholesalers are solidifying their long-term partner relationships and differentiating their services by helping to combat fraud. But this is proving to be difficult, as it seems fraud is taking place everywhere and is continuing to evolve. As the technology and processes get smarter, so do the fraudsters.
